

Successfully co-founded CEO Compression, a company specializing in turnkey leasing of natural gas compression for Oil & Gas producers. CEO was sold to Hanover Compression in 2000. Robert started his career with Mobil E&P in 1986.Mr. Kovar is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, has a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and a MBA from the University of Houston.
Case Nienhuis – Vice President, Business Development
Joined company in 2001.
In prior years, Case led the expansion of Weatherford Global Compression, a joint venture between GE Capital and Weatherford International, as VP International Operations. As VP Sales & Marketing, Mr. Nienhuis led Universal Compression’s domestic sales team. Case started his career with Camco (acquired by Schlumberger), where he managed business units in the Middle East and product lines worldwide. Mr. Nienhuis has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Automotive Engineering Institute, The Netherlands.
Darrell W. O’Neal, CPA – Vice President/ Chief Financial Officer
Joined the company in 2002.
Mr. O'Neal joined CEO (now Hanover) as its Corporate Controller in 1997. Previously, Darrell held key financial positions at Slick 50, Porta-Kamp Mfg., and US Home. He started his career with Shell Oil in 1970. Mr. O'Neal has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Angelo State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.
James R. Field, P.E. – Vice President/ Chief Operating Officer
Joined the company in September 2004.
Mr. Field has nearly 30 years of domestic and international industry experience. Mr. Field started his career at Brown & Root. Prior to joining MEI, he was Vice-President of Surface Production Systems, Inc. Mr. Field is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an MS degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
William F. Fordtran, P.E. – Manager Industrial Division
Joined company in March 2002.
Served as Chief Operations Officer and co-founded Indtech in 1989. Previously Mr. Fordtran owned Padre Island Supply, a company specializing in commercial and residential construction. Bill started his career with Coastal Refining in 1968, as Maintenance Engineer. Mr. Fordtran is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and has a BS in General Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Tony Smith, PMP – Manager Oil & Gas Division
Joined the company in October 2005.
Mr. Smith has 25 years experience in the Oil & Gas industry in both onshore and offshore projects in the US and internationally. Prior to joining MEI, Tony held management positions during his career at Mustang Engineering, Wilbanks-Thronson, Thronson Engineering and Tivenca. Mr. Smith is a Project Management Professional certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and has an Associate Value Specialist certificate from the Society of American Value Engineers.
