PSM Capabilities/Experience

Maverick Engineering (MEI) has extensive experience in all facets of the Process Safety Management (PSM) standard throughout each of the fourteen points. MEI has assisted clients as required in setting up new Process Safety Management programs, auditing existing programs for deficiencies, and providing support throughout the ongoing maintenance and recordkeeping required by the PSM regulations. In addition to Process Safety Management, MEI is very experienced with the EPA's Risk Management Program (RMP) regulation and the Department of Transportation's Integrity Management Program requirements.

Representative Projects

The following is a brief summary of various projects completed at MEI involving the PSM, RMP, and IMP regulations.

West Ranch

Assisted with the development of the facility PSM program. Gathered and documented the facility’s existing Process Safety Information including developing as-built facility P&ID’s. Developed the Mechanical Integrity program. Completed a Process Hazards Analysis using the HAZOP methodology. Developed the facility Operating Procedures.

Panoma

Gathered and documented the facility’s existing Process Safety Information including developing as-built P&ID’s. Completed the Process Hazards Analysis using the HAZOP methodology.

ACH and Acrylonitrile Unit

Updated the facility Process Safety Information including numerous updates to the facility P&ID’s. Completed an engineering study of the facility relief and flare systems.

North Word

Assisted with the development of the facility PSM program. Gathered and documented the facility’s existing Process Safety Information including developing as-built P&ID’s and completing an engineering study of the facilities relief and flare systems. Completed a Process Hazards Analysis of the facility using the HAZOP methodology and took the lead role in mitigating the risks identified in the PHA.

Madisonville

Completed a Process Hazards Analysis of the facility using the HAZOP methodology. Developed the written facility RMP program and assisted with implementation of the program.

Chatom

Completed an audit of the existing facility PSM and RMP programs. Worked with ConocoPhillips in implementation of the recommendations from the audit. Took a lead role in gathering and updating the existing facility Process Safety Information.

South Texas facilities

Lead the implementation of the Management of Change process. Completed the data gathering and documentation efforts on the Process Safety Information for numerous producing facilities throughout South Texas. Lead Process Hazards Analyses on several producing facilities throughout South Texas using the What-If methodology.

Yeager

Completed the engineering and design of the facility under the auspices of the PSM program including developing and documenting the Process Safety Information, completing a Process Hazards Analysis of the design, overseeing the Pre-Startup Safety Review, and developing the facility Operating Procedures.

IMP

Developed and implementation of the Integrity Management Program for over 2,000 miles of regulated pipeline systems.

MOC

Took an integral role in providing support to the development of the Management of Change procedures. Gathered Process Safety Information and developed P&ID’s for several facilities throughout the Gulf Coast region.
